We are all looking for something real. Something visceral. Something of substance. A course of direction. A passage toward prosperity. An avenue of evolution. An echelon of intrigue. A plane of purpose. A peace of mind. A place where the points of meaningfulness and mindfulness connect and/or intersect in a harmonious fashion. We are all searching for an outlet. An ideal opportunity to best apply ourselves and our talents and gifts in ways that are recognized and reciprocated in a symbiotic, requited relationship. We all want self-actualization. We all want to feel good in our skin. We all want better communities. We are the curators in the grand new exhibitions of life. We are the new deities that are designing the realms of tomorrow. We recognize that no one is an island. The success of the individual exists within the success of the body politic. Investments in the causes and those we care about is an investment in ourselves. If we choose to envision it and contribute toward it; a better world is indeed possible.

Introducing DC’s latest upstarts Ecstatic International, interrupting our regularly scheduled programming with something that is not a technocratic application nor a reproductive health supplement (as seen on tv and on the net, hawked by toxic wannabe demagogues). A group devoted to the radicalization of new riveting rhythms, G.L. Jaguar (Priests) Laura Harris (Ex Hex), Nikhil Rao, Anno (Olivia Neutron-John) and Jacky Cougar Abok (Des Demonas) have banded together under the self-styled banner of ‘radical optimism and energies sourced from Purple Music's outer reaches.’ Collectively EI blends the inner and outer tensions in a synthesis that takes on the conflicts and paradoxes that plague the mind, body, spirit, populous and other aspects of hive consciousness into a cathartic art form. Recently heard subverting the pangs of fear and paranoia on the propeller pop dance propulsions of “High Violence”, Ecstatic International broadcasts an inconvenient transmission of self-evident truths on the debut of the nouveaux disco du jour — “Disruptor”.

Ecstatic International is dedicated to giving the world back to the people. Reclaiming the otherwise spoils of traumas from the past and present, toppling oppressive and obsolete systems with new progressive energy and synergistic styles. “Disruptor” is the sound of a new revolution, resonating in amplified echoes of the forgotten pillars and pylons of contemporary bridges to the unsung heroes sequestered to the footnotes and annotations of collegiate texts. EI turns the pages of modern day struggles toward conversations of action, taking it to the streets with an urgency that is exciting and invigorating like the rise of a new day’s potential of promise and possibilities. “Disruptor” jams the signals of the static and stale doctrines of failed states and their perpetrators that espouse the tired rhetoric of polemics that flood the airwaves and timeline feeds. The DC crew shatters the binary switches to offer a world of myriad fascinating new directions, new-new testaments, freshly carved tributaries, new routes of thinking and feeling, bold new boulevards where new consciousness and enlightened discourse is possible. EI radiates like a rhythmic alarm clock to awaken the spirit from within, a call for a new kindness and elevated attitude of care that is proactive and shines with an indestructible, indefatigable, unflappable splendor of beats and bars with purpose, presence and exuberant poise.

Ecstatic International provided the following succinct manifesto on “Disruptor”, the self-titled and more:

Nestled in the most powerful city in the world, we embrace radical optimism to transcend time and space under a unified groove. Fueled by clandestine chemistry and analog alchemy, we hold a mirror up to the world, reflecting what stands before us. Now we face our own mortality and inconvenient truths, alone, hunched over, our faces glowing as we gaze endlessly into an infinite void. Are you guided by the light that blinds you? Laugh at the absurdity of modern life. The oppression of our past is the oppression of our present. Disrupt the city streets. Rise when people fall. Give space to the unheard. Fight for truth. Live with intent. Follow your passion. Love is a choice. Sexuality is a spectrum. Manifest your potential. Abandon mediocrity. Grow. Never forget that style is everything. Fashion is your armor from the banality and reality of everyday. Music is the fabric of our lives. Art fuels the soul. The mosh pits at rec-centers, warehouse raves, small clubs, dive bars, these spaces will once again be sacred with the love we put into them. Ecstatic International believes in you. Ecstatic International believes in the power of us. The world is yours.

Ecstatic International’s self-titled cassette will be available October 14 via Sister Polygon.
