Basking in the luminescence of the new summer’s radiant sun, we observe our world in states of change. Gripped in the throes of climate changes, dramatic shifts in weather patterns, a world caught up in a whirlwind of nearly everything imaginable and the beckoning call of renewal; we look to nature and within ourselves for something resembling hope. Just as the floral bloom punctuates the landscape with a bounty of spirit affirming beauty; we can imagine a better world. A universal community that is not at war with itself. A shared global village built on the principals of supporting one another, as opposed to tearing each other down in the name of small minded polemic talking points spouted by irrelevant pundits who have outlasted their relevance. A better society is possible, one established on the foundations of caring wholeheartedly for our neighbors and loved ones, a reality based on celebrating the differences in our cultures and experiences as something that brings us together (instead of grounds for division, ill cast judgements and the perils of shame). As the new solstice offers its gardens and fields of bright petaled floral fancy and fauna; the new season affords us all a new chance to shimmer and shine like a diamond from the gorgeous expanses of earth where we dwell.

In the spirit of these ethereal upstarts and the botanical blossom and bloom rises DIY pop veteran Matt Messore of Cathedral Bells presenting the new analog electro outfit Midi Memory with the debut of the Television Blonde remix for “Daisy”. Tackling Cincinnati artist Gabe Beckles’ wistful and modern romantic ballad with kinetic percussion mechanics and Roland accents galore; Messore uplifts the origin further into the stratosphere in the spirit of new truths and beauty. The remix rides high on the sentiments of exhilaration and euphoria that surrounds the feelings of bliss that defies the principle parameters of conventional expressive semantics. The Orlando-based artist once again bridges the subterranean currents of earthly underground and organic energy with the celestial aura of heavenly light captured in aural tones of meaningful, musical landscapes painted in hues of sincere (and sonic) sentiments.

Synths flicker and warmly emanate like fireflies lighting the way of otherwise darkened paths. Matt’s electro treatments creates the feeling of finding love at a local town carnival, emulating the ecstatic spin of a carousel whirling with abandon — barely hanging on to the grounding point of its axis to the free-wheeling elation of a Ferris wheel’s lift & fall cycles. The Midi Memory x Television Blonde blend mixes together that sense of the unknown and an unrelenting frequency of newness, allowing the audience to share in the feeling of embarking upon something they have yet to witness or experience before. The re-imagined track rocks with a caffeinated energy high off the feeling of finding new reasons to love, new reasons to trust, new reasons to exercise new degrees of care for oneself, their community, their world and more. “Daisy” dives into an electrified, technicolor field of natural abundance that sends the listener soaring among the cloudy waves, azure skies, coasting off the bright beams of solar energy cast by the auspices of a benevolent and smiling sun.

Matt Messore of Midi Memory / Cathedral Bells provided some succinct insights on the remix of Television Blonde’s “Daisy”:

I kept the sequence the same as original version, with the arrangement more upbeat and synth heavy. The synth bass arpeggiator stands out the most to me on the remix as it adds a different vibe, which is what we were going for.

The Midi Memory remix of Television Blonde’s “Daisy” will be available everywhere July 15.
